Capital Barbell Club is now meeting on the weekends to train at Balance Gym in Dupont Circle (Washington D.C.). Training sessions will no longer be open (i.e. free) to non-members of Balance, but they have a 10$ drop-in fee option. If you're interested in finding out about training times, contact me at fred@capitalbarbellclub.com, as they will no longer be posted. Additionally, this site will be transitioned to our blogspot page shortly www.capitalbarbellclub.blogspot.com.

This month we have a couple Saturday events impacting our training schedule.
The Baltimore Open is on 17 January - go to www.marylandweightlifting.com for meet information and registration forms
We are hosting a USAW Club Coach course at the gym on the weekend of 31 January and thus will not be holding group training sessions that weekend.
I will be in Turkey soon, in search of the technique behind the Mutlu extension.....

Great day of lifting for our guys. Strong efforts by all who attended: Reggie, Mike, James, Mario, and Patrick. Thanks to Paul for helping to tape our lifts (youtube video to follow shortly), and to all of the folks at East Coast Gold crew in Baltimore who hosted a fantastic event. Some photos below.

It doesn't get much better than this. Note the barbell height at the top of the second pull relative to the height of the barbell when Steiner is in the bottom position of the squat. Any questions?

Front and back squats should be a staple exercise to develop greater leg strength. In the picture below, notice the upright torso, position of the bar high on the shoulders and up against the neck, and the high elbows. This is EXCELLENT positioning.
